All around the turkey we have written all the things we are thankful!

STRING BEANS, STRING BEANS

Well we did not expect it to happen, we hoped it would, and it did! WE HAVE STRING BEANS

HERE'S THE BEANS

We planted the wet and dry beans.  Imagine our surprise when both kinds of beans emerged at the same timel We have now planted them altogether in one large  pot .  MAYBE WE WILL GET STRING BEANS!

We also planted three dry beans.  We predict that the wet beans will be the first to emerge.  KEEP WATCHING!

We soaked string bean seeds overnight and planted them.  We are keeping track in our science journals to see when they emerge from the soil.

SEEDS, SEEDS WHAT WILL THEY DO?

We soaked string bean seeds overnight.  We peeled off the seed coat and examined the embryo with our hand held lenses.  Here is a picture of what we saw.

We have been looklng at the phrase Praise God.   We decided to create a bulletin board with flowers stating ALWAYS.  Have a look

WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL! 

The first grade will be working on many exciting tasks this year.  We will be increasing our knowledge of reading and writing using the template of Teachers College. 

Our math will include learning how to add and subtract using double digits.  We will learn about 3d shapes and how we can incorporate them into our world.  We will also be reading and learning how to take apart word problems and solve them step by step.

In science we will be working on small STEM projects culminating in the school wide project in the spring.

Social studies will involve , maps, communities, and the world.

I am looking forward to meeting with you on Monday evening.
