WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL! 

The first grade will be working on many exciting tasks this year.  We will be increasing our knowledge of reading and writing using the template of Teachers College. 

Our math will include learning how to add and subtract using double digits.  We will learn about 3d shapes and how we can incorporate them into our world.  We will also be reading and learning how to take apart word problems and solve them step by step.

In science we will be working on small STEM projects culminating in the school wide project in the spring.

Social studies will involve , maps, communities, and the world.

I am looking forward to meeting with you on Monday evening.

Look Who's In First Grade!

Welcome back! I hope you had an enjoyable summer.  We will be doing some very exciting things this year. 

Luna Moths

We have completed our study of the moths. We wrote a short report.  We received cocoons and watched them hatch.  Some our moths had problems and some were perfect.
We even had some of them lay eggs!

MOTHER'S DAY

We decided to paint and plant for our moms.  We used a four inch pot and painted it turquoise and pink.  We turned our ppts upside down and traced the circle amd then cut it out.  We divided the circle into fourths amd used it to plan our pots. We placed the plants in fourths and were able to switch them around if we weren't sure.  We had a blast!  HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!
