SLIME!!!

We wanted to make slime.  However we knew about not using borax so we found a different alternative.  We used glue, cornstarch, and food coloring and a tiny bit of water.

The girls learned how to take notes and  turn them into reports.  They created amazing reports about a woman in history.

Completion of the Freedom Quilt

The girls followed the Freedom Trail.  The girls wrote stories and followed the trail.  If you look closely  you  can see they landed in the north at a heart shaped lake. Can you guess where it is?  We will give you a hinr it  is very close by

Freedom Quilt

The First Grade is in  the midst of learning about freedom quilts.   They have learned about the different squares and how they led the slaves to freedom.  The photos below show how the girls are  using different designs to "hide" the meaning of the squares.  Keep watching as the girls will  be designing a quilt of their own.

Non fiction graphic organizers and writing according to Teachers College

We read non fiction books with a partner.  We discussed the book with each other.  We drew our own graphic organizer and filled it in.  We took the words from our  organizers and wrote a non fiction report.
