Dear Second Grade Parents,

Reconciliation was so lovely!  The girls were just absolute angels on their very special day.  Thank you so much for your wonderful cooperation.

Well Spring is officially here!

The children have been working hard on 3 dimensional shapes.  We have been drawing, measuring, and creating.  The girls separated into two groups and created  buildings with their various shapes that they created from the net figures that were provided.  They had to create the building and decide what materials were needed.  One group created their own version of La Spragada Familia - Antonio's Gaudi's Cathedral in Barcelona, Spain.  The second group decided to create their version of an amphitheater that one of the girls had seen in Paris.  It was terrific to see how they have incorporated what they have learned in their STEM classes.

The girls have been working on Persuasive Essays.  They are using their knowledge to persuade someone to "their" side.  The children are doing a wonderful job.  They will be listening to some of the Fourth Grade's persuasive writings to see how they can improve their own writings.  This writing has set the tone for some very lively discussions in class!

The girls are continuing to work on Ancient Greece using the Seven Step Independent Investigative Method.  They have investigated the gods and goddesses, some of the famous buildings, written their own fable, created vases (almost done) with Mrs. Sarachman, and have begun taking notes on some of the events that took place in Ancient Greece.

Due to illness in the family Msgr. Jamie will speak with all of the parents on Communion Day.
Just a reminder, the girls dresses must have opaque sleeves, the length should be below the knee, all First Communicants must wear a veil, all girls must wear socks or stockings, no sandals, no heels.  There is to be no photography of any kind during First Holy Communion.  We ask that all of the congregation remain in their seats throughout the Mass.  We must remember that this is a sacrament and also it is a very important day for your daughters.

Have a very Blessed Easter!!!

Mrs. Romano
